Nick D. Spain is the Vice President of Human Resources (HR) for Lockheed Martin’s Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) Business Area

He is responsible for HR Business Strategy, Talent Management, Organizational Effectiveness, Global Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Workforce Intelligence, Labor Relations, Workforce Planning, Diversity & Inclusion, and HR Business Partner support for nearly 20,000 employees.

Previously, Nick held several HR Executive Leadership roles at Lockheed Martin. He served as the HR VP for the Space Business Area, overseeing HR strategies and services for nearly 24,000 employees. Before that, he was the HR VP for Enterprise Operations and Acting Chief Diversity Officer, responsible for supporting the Corporation’s senior executive population, their respective functional organizations, and enterprise-wide diversity initiatives. Nick is the former HR Vice President for the Rotary and Mission Systems Functional Organizations, providing HR support to 30,000 employees globally, and held various HR leadership positions within Enterprise Operations, RMS, and the former IS&GS Business Area. Nick also served as an Engineering Manager early in his LM career.

Nick joined the company in 2000 as part of the HR Leadership Development Program. He graduated from the LM EDGE program and HR Roundtable Mentoring. Nick holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Temple University, a Master of Arts degree in Industrial & Organizational Psychology from West Chester University of Pennsylvania, and a certificate in HR Management from George Mason University. He is a two-time recipient of the NOVA Award. Nick is an active board member of Laila’s Gift and The Cloud Family Foundation.
