It’s Almost Time to Celebrate!

Laila’s Gift celebrates children with diverse abilities by acknowledging and celebrating their birthdays and significant milestones. We believe that every birthday and milestone is important, not only because it is a special day for any child, but also because within the special-needs community, these children and their families face unique challenges year after year. Reaching a birthday or milestone becomes a momentous occasion that deserves recognition and celebration. By celebrating these milestones, Laila’s Gift aims to bring joy and positivity to the lives of these children and their families, while also raising awareness and promoting inclusiveness within the community. Since our inception in 2022, we have proudly celebrated over 775 families…and counting!

What to Expect from a Celebration

Where?

We are proud to announce the grand opening of our NEW Laila’s Gift Celebration and Advocacy Center in Harford County, MD!

Currently, our celebrations are limited to the State of Maryland. However, we welcome families from out of state to express their interest in our program as we look to expand our reach.

When?

Laila’s Gift proudly hosts celebrations at our Celebration and Advocacy Center starting January 2024! We are excited about bringing this unique experience under the roof our of very own center!

Party times vary depending on the needs of the families. Celebrations are typically held during the evenings and weekends.

What?

Each celebration is completely free of charge to the families, and include:

  •  Up to 10 guests to the party (for each family)
  • A Digitial Party Invite to be distributed to anticipated guests
  • FREE and accessible parking
  • Beautiful Party Decorations
  • Thrilling and kid-appropriate entertainment
  • Exciting Ability-Friendly Activities
  • A Personalized Cake for each celebrated child
  • Food, Drinks, and Snacks for individuals who can consume these items
  • A Unique Gift for each child based on their preferences, hobbies, or interests
  • A Laila’s Gift keepsake gift box
  • A Short Video Montage of the child’s party experience
  • … and most importantly, family memories to last a lifetime!

We invite multiple families to each party to maximize the friend experience and give an opportunity for families dealing with similar circumstances to connect to one other. “We are not only providing celebrations to families, we are creating friendships and networks to last a lifetime. Laila doesn’t have many friends. Most families with children with different abilities shy away from celebrations because there is usually not enough participation from friends, and sometimes families. Laila’s Gift supports families by ensuring they are left with an amazing experience without the pressure of coordinating a party for their precious child”. How?

Once a child is nominated, Laila’s Gift will review the submission and respond to the request. If selected, you will be asked to complete a brief questionnaire that helps us better understand the child more to ensure we coordinate an amazing celebration for them. Once the questionnaire is completed, Laila’s Gift will send party details via email approximately 1-3 weeks prior to the celebration.

Timing of the details depends on the timing of the request.

We believe every child deserves to be celebrated no matter what challenges they face. Our celebrations are a great way to celebrate remarkable children, establish a friendship community, and create a support network for families.
