Elsa M. is an award-winning journalist, TV host, radio host, podcaster, and commercial spokesperson/actress. She is currently the host of “Midday Maryland” – a daily lifestyle TV show on WMAR-2, ABC in Baltimore airing each weekday at noon

A veteran on-air talent and standout in the field for the ability to reach diverse and wide-ranging audiences, Elsa has excelled in every facet of media, from broadcast to print, digital, and strategic communications. She has been honored numerous times throughout her career, receiving several awards and distinctions, including earning an Edward R. Murrow Award for Excellence in Spot News and four Emmy nominations, to name a few.

Elsa’s relationship with “Laila’s Gift” began in the organization’s nascent years after she conducted an interview with Founder Shari Bailey on her TV Show. As a mother of a daughter who is also Laila and Lana’s age, Elsa immediately connected with Shari, her desire for the best for both her daughters, and her wish for all other children in the world as well: that they feel loved, seen, and empowered.

Elsa was moved enough to become a “Celebrator” shortly after that day, before ultimately joining the Laila’s Gift Board of Directors to assist in an expanded role. She says the opportunity to celebrate the milestones and accomplishments of special needs children in a tangible way, while supporting their families as well, means the world to her.
